A beautiful and unique handmade terracotta gratin dish.
With their history dating back to the 19th century, the Not family are in pottery work in a small hamlet of “Mas-Saintes-Puelles”. The Not poterie is a family story since 1947 but the Mas-Saintes-Puelles poterie, where the Not family is located, opened in 1830. The technique has remained identical since then, using the original pottery kick wheels.
After collecting the quality clay from the surroundings, it is mixed with water. Potters then shape the lumps of mud into beautiful molds of dishes, jugs, or pitchers. These molds are then air-dried and baked in a kiln.
This whole process is done with love and passion for the work. The skills and the history of the Not family are what make this terracotta gratin dish so unique.
This terracotta gratin dish is made of local clay, and its glaze is of food grade. Without any external color applied, the original clay color gives this gratin dish an extra charm. With its appealing terracotta color, unique texture, and air of originality, this gratin dish will be an amazing addition to your kitchen table.
